Simms G3 Wading Boots Sizing

Looking at getting a new pair of wading boots for my upcoming trip to Jurassic Lake this fall. Going to be some walking involved so decided to get a new pair of boots and add cleats for the rocky stuff.

I will be wearing wool socks and neoprene stocking foot waders. I know the "standard' is one size over your regular shoe size but wondering if anybody has some real world experience with these boots. Thinking 2 sizes up will be more fitting.....of pun intended....lol.

Yes I could go to the shop and try them but I don't plan to buy them there and would rather not go through that.

TIA

I’ve worn Simms boots for years (in addition to Korkers) and always buy one size up. I wear wool sox inside my waders and thicker ones over the winter. My experience may vary from others as I wear size small and a slender.

One size up on Simms wader boot but two sizes up on the wader stocking foot. I find the stockingfoot really bad if even a little tight with two wool socks. Never had a problem with a little extra neoprene going into the boot one size up, whether one or two socks. Warmer weather water I use Orvis lightweights one size up. The best thing I have found about Simms is that they are made wider than other brands and that is a big issue for my wide feet.

I buy Simms boots one size up from my shoe size for summer (one pair heavy merino wool socks) and two sizes up for winter cuz I then wear two pair heavy merino wool socks. My feet get cold easily in the winter.
