Should probably get this out in the open here (regarding my employment)

I also want to get something off my chest. My reviews of the OHS rod from echo I stand by those. Evan may go from Echo. That's a bummer for Echo for sure. But if anybody is looking for a one rod to do lots of things really really good you should consider the OHS. Evan may be gone from Echo. But the magic, the soul, the not able to be quantified worth of a great rod is still there in the OHS. Get yours today......

I did something similar five years ago. I found out my business partner of 10 years was embezzling money from the business, along with some other stuff I didn't want to be involved with that could potentially ruin my reputation, or worse.
A job offer happened to come along that seemed heaven sent. A local company needed a supervisor position filled, and were unable to fill it from within. Nobody could pass the tests. I passed all three on the first try, and jumped headfirst into a career I knew nothing about, being a boss to many people who were older and had been doing it for years. There was the expected resentment at first, but it didn't take long to assimilate.
I'm thinking about moving on after this year, and going out on my own. I've never really liked working for other people, though the job I have now has perks. I even get paid to fish once in awhile.

One interesting thing about the OHS is you almost never see a used one come up for sale. I'd say that speaks to the accuracy of your experience and review of that rod. The folks that get one just aren't selling them. A sure sign the rod is as good as advertised (if not way better).

You can also euro-nymph steeltrout with it, light in hand and actually still balances well. Mine won't be up for sale any time soon, now anyone need a lightly used SR 7wt....?

(I've posted this in a few other places, but decided to finally get it out here too)

To get ahead of the rumor mill, I am going to let the cat out of the bag here:

After 7 great years, I've decided I've given all I can give to Rajeff Sports. Deciding to move on from a job is never easy, but it's even harder when you love the company and the people you work for. I have nothing but the best things to say about the company, and know how fortunate I am to have had this opportunity.

But even in the best of places, when it's time, it's time. I have poured myself in to the company for nearly 7 years now, and there's just nothing left in the tank. To continue to go on as I am would be a detriment to both myself and the company that has taken such good care of me.

I hope to stay connected with them in some capacity going forward, possibly even with a very part time arrangement to continue doing a few things for them. But I will be leaving the fishing products industry entirely with my new gig (more on that later). My only involvement in the fishing world going forward will be my continued co-ownership of PNW Fly Fishing.

I will still be at Rajeff Sports, but transitioning to the new gig over the next few weeks. So I'm not totally gone yet. I want to give them plenty of time to be operating with someone new and have them trained up and self-sufficient before I disappear.

Thank you to everyone in my extended network who has made working in this industry, and for Rajeff Sports/ECHO so special. I hope to continue staying in touch with many of you.
Good for you! I never purposely moved on from a position. Hindsight when it comes to a career is something I generally avoid except when i quit to retire. That was good! ;)

It is finished. Worked my last day. Thanks again to everyone who made things awesome over the years!

ECHO is still my brand and my people and I will continue to help them when and if they need me for anything.

That is the second time that movie has popped up. Looks like I need to sit down and watch it again. Its been a while.

Good luck on your new endeavor.

Hope your new job allows more time on water and less warranty work with customers like me.

You're a legend thank you for all that you did for me personally and for Spawn Fly Fish! You always have a place to stay, clean fish, and hangout! You actually were the first person to stay the night at Spawn Fly Fish!

Happy trails Evan wherever they may take you. I appreciate all you did for us at the old shop and at A Blaze in the Northern Fly. Changes in course take a some courage but we never reach our full potential without having faith in ourselves. Best of luck.
Glenn
