Secret lake in Eastern Wa.

I spent an hour on the big lake today, near the south end. Little island closer than the big island launch. Zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing, none. Well done, sir!

It was tough fishing,I launched over by the first outhouse just at the end of that big island. No pink involved.

I thought I'd sneak in here on @LakeGuy's thread with a sort of fishing report from another secret lake, I'll just call it SL No. 7. @Engee and I had planned to drive to the Columbia River today and fish the big eddy but both of us thought better of it. I decided to fish closer to home given the fog, ice fog, icy roads.

A couple weeks ago Engee and I braved SL No. 7 with float tubes, three hours in the water and I wasn't sure I still had feet. No float tube there last week, again today float tubeless.

This little jig worked pretty well at attracting strikes but my hook to strike ratio SUCKED. Big time. 3 for 10?

The weatherman is forecasting 4F here a week from today. My trouting days for 2022 are rapidly coming to a close.

Maybe opening up the gap a little would have helped. Maybe not too.

Fred - there was a pretty stiff wind blowing so the line kept bellying. That was surely part of my problem, cold hands didn't help. I do have to admit I was wondering about a micro barb....?
