NFR Seahawks 2022 - Official Thread

Some may recall that owner Jody Allen has had her own sexual harassment history with Vulcan body guards. The Seattle area masseuse community should brace themselves for an imminent Watson signing.

If Minshew can make the Jags interesting for half a season, imagine what he could do for the Hawks...

FYI - "Masseuse" is not a term that massage therapists prefer as it's the term used for the more... risque type massage parlors.

I'd rather take Trubisky or Minshew.
I’m not talking long term…Mariotta has played little the last two years, has fresh legs (yes, got a knee problem)…but the shoulder has healed. He might be a decent stop gap qb while the Hawks use one of those 1st rnd picks on a qb to groom…and he’s better and more experienced than Trubisky or the Stash…

Problem with Mariotta is that he won't add anything to the win column while being far less interesting. The stache needs to go there

Happy ending places...

I recall them almost winning games against some good teams with Geno Smith. Hawks have actually fielded a decent defense lately. RW was extremely overrated IMO. He went to SBs with maybe the best defense ever backing him up. But back to the defense, all the band wagon people sad about Bobby Wagner being gone last week and I’m like Jordyn Brooks was the 7th best LB last season according to some metrics and people were like, “Jordyn who?”

Please everyone, if you call yourself a serious Hawks fan and participate in these discussions and you don’t know who Brooks is, you really need to stop. So many ”fans” that are like my grandma asking about Ken Griffey in 2010. I don’t even call myself a serious fan and I know more about the young stars on this team than people who wear jerseys to work. Most NFL careers are lIke 3 years and the Hawks glory years were 9 years ago.

Brooks and Taylor are both studs. I think Bobby very well could be up there with Big Walt for best Seahawks ever, but it was time.

Quandre Diggs locked up for 3yrs. So that's some good news. More money than I'd have expected though.

That is a lot of cap room tied up in safeties.

Seahawks may face a boycott from a small but significant portion of their fan base if they bring Watson in. Admittedly I am basing this off one data point - myself.

No, the backlash would be pretty severe. I'd have a very hard time with it for a number of reasons. Off field issues aside, I think giving up that haul then paying a QB top dollar when they're in need of a rebuild is just setting the team up for long term failure. They need to rebuild around a cheap QB.

The seahawks have a history of signing people with off field issues. Jarran Reed was actually convicted of assaulting a woman - remember he missed 6 games to start 2020. They signed Aldon Smith last year who was previously convicted of domestic violence. Quinton Dunbar was in the middle of legal troubles during the year they acquired him (armed robbery). If they sign Watson it's more of the same. Not saying I like it - I don't. I think it's pretty gross way to operate a business that is putting role models out on the field.

Athletes aren't role models....they're 22-35 year old men playing games for millions of dollars.

Entertainers.... ?
Probably so

Role models...hardly.

Totally agree with this. Some turn out to be quality roll models but most not so much. Same with the Hollywood type. Bunch of uneducated pampered punks.
I think a lot of athletes really don’t want the roll model tag attached to them.
Society has forced it on them.
They play a kids game and they are good at it.
That’s it
