Scotty vs. Berkley Quick Release Rod Holder...Your Opinion?

I have the Berkley on one of my pontoons but want to add one to another one.
I'm happy with the Berkley but the Scotty came out after I purchased it so I'm wondering if they made any improvements over the Berkley design.

Dean, I have never used a Berkley but have 3 of the Scotty mounts that I use interchangeably on my pram, pontoon boat and float tube. I like how adjustable they are and how securely they hold a rod. But I use them to transport rods only, I have never used one to troll or fish with. They can easily be attached to an inflatable with NRS straps and provide a solid mounting point for holding a fly rod.

I have several of those as well and like them.
I also have the Berkley which serves a different purpose. The angle is adjustable and I find that the secure but quick release function is especially handy when using two rods, when using the oars while moving, or when having a rod out with a sandwich in hand.:D
This is the Berkley which now sells for around 20$.

He's referring to this holder... Thought about trying it but bought another Berkley instead...

After watching a video on the Scotty and looking at the price difference, 10$ less, I think I'll just go with another Berkley.
The only change I made was to replace the rubber tips with surgical tubing to make it more rod friendly.
