Scott G Series 6 Weight feedback

I would appreciate feedback from folks who have fished the Scott G Series 9 ft 6 weight rods in stillwater's.

I have casted the same rod in a 4 weight and enjoyed it very much and I find the Centric in a 6 weight a bit too fast. There is no Scott dealer near me to cast the G Series 6 weight. I plan to use it as my main rod fishing stillwater's, 70-80% of the time with long leaders and an indicator and the other times a type 1 or 3 with small nymphs. I have been working on my casting skills but still find a fast rod doesn't suit my casting style. The other rod on my short list is a Winston Air 2 6 weight but it's twice the price of the Scott that I have my eye on.

Does it have enough backbone for how I want to fish it? Any insight is much appreciated.
 
While I love my original G, a custom build 6 weight in 9’6”, I’ve never fished the new generation. I’m sure it’s great. Imagine it’d be great for your intended use, but you might consider a Redington CT, similar action and a lot less money.
To answer your question, yes the 9’ six G would do the job. I prefer a longer rod for stillwater if I’m in a tube or other device where I’m low in the water.

check out Douglas DXF's, my fave stillwater rods among my stillwater collection. Reasonably priced, light, progressively fast vs laser fast. At a lower cost is the Fenwick Aetos, which I believe to be the best rod in it's price range,

The Scott G sounds perfect for you. Buying it would not be a mistake, far from it. You are talking the G2 model right?

Thank you for everyone's feedback. I own a couple Fenwick Aetos 5 weights (1st gen and 2nd gen) and was thinking about purchasing a 6 weight as I do like them. I would like one very nice rod and have casted a few Scott rods, own an older Scott SVS, and think the G Series may be a way to go.

I am looking at a new 9 ft G Series 6 weight.
 
I have a 3-year old G Series 6 wt, but it is 8' 8", not 9'. Sort of an in between 8 1/2' and 9'. I like the rod a lot. I tried out the Centric, but it was another one of those "stiff as a fireplace poker." Super fast action rods just aren't my preference. On the Scott I use a WF6F Cortland Peach, and a WF6F/S 10' sink tip, and one of those 200 gr 24 or 26' fast sinking heads for streamer fishing. It's a good rod and by far the most I have ever paid for a plastic fishing rod. I'm also a fan of the Redington CTs, which I have in 3 and 5 wt, and the G Series is a good fit, action wise.
