I was into fish right away with rootbeer body, red wire rib, white bead (or gill). We all have lots of them of sorts, just in the 14 or 16 to 18 sizes. The WA lakes I fish don’t have lots of huge or big mids like BC. That said the shucks and bombers from several lakes I’ve recently fished I WA had big ass mids, easily 12 and likely 10s. I need to think big, especially with one fly re the BC regs.
I have around 1200 mids to choose from re 10-12 to 20, most 14-16. I won’t have the right one but I’ll try

Some will be tied, I like root beers and fish them a lot, I’ll just need to bump the size up a bit and have a few 12 though as Firestick’s, more a 10. It’s a nice problem to have. Just looking forward to some R&R with my friends. Camp will be as much fun as the fishing. Some good dinners are being made.I was into fish right away with rootbeer body, red wire rib, white bead (or gill).
You are correct, there’s also a few pay to play lakes which we may also try. One of them had lights out chromie fishing for 3-4 lb fish a few weeks back but we’ll see. There’ll be a rambling report to follow. Just got my job boat home from today, ‘the temperatures rising’ as the song goes but defo not looking to it be raining men@Dave Boyle sorry for the thread drift here.
This is Salmon Lake on Douglas Ranch, correct? If so, how far is the drive from Salmon to say Stoney and Minnie? I fished Stoney about 40 years ago before the lodge was built there have been thinking I need to get back up there again in the future.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
