Has anybody recently fished Icicle river?

Curious and considering a trip.


Thanks in advance for any Intel.
 
I used to fish the Icicle above the fish hatchery on those hot summer days, caught many small wild RB's.
As for fishing for salmon below the hatchery, there is very little public property to fish from.
 
Decent numbers of fish over Rock Island. Brine up some Herring, tie up some double hook leaders with a sliding fore hook, grab some weight, bead chain swivels, spin and glows, and some sliding snaps. Put you boat in up by the hatchery at O'dark-30, and find a spot. Boat plunking at it's finest. Off the river by noon. Beers and brats in Leavenworth for lunch. Back on the river until dark. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Fishing changes hour to hour on that crick. Roll the dice and take a chance. If you wait until you get a good report, you'll be too late
