Getting rid of your spares?
Don't sell yourself short.😉

Oh, I’ve got plenty. Too much actually. 😂
For someone getting into beach fishing or that likes to toss streamers, this rod would be a good option to consider.

Are you liking the Loomis IMX rods as your “go to” for the beach?

I am liking them. I just have too much stuff.
Just trying to downsize the herd. I don’t need seven 6 wts….or is it eight??? 😂

I’ve had a 697-4 for about 25 years now, and also with a thumb indent. I’ve moved on to newer tech, but is it actually better? That’s a campfire discussion that I could argue either side of, with a finger of scotch. The 697 is fast enough and yet has more feel if that matters to you. Just 2 scents from the gallery. This was (and maybe still is) the quintessential SRC rod, so a good score that someone can enjoy and be proud of for years more. Old school cool.

Question is... is it worth upgrading from the Sage One 6wt w/o a fighting butt...

Only you can decide that….or we have a forum poll. 😉
Just me personally, I like having a fighting butt on all rods 6 wt and above, especially for use in saltwater.

I 100% agree that fighting butt is best. I was just making a off-handed remark given I already have sage one 6wt... trying to justify (out loud) to my self the price for the X!!
