Sage Sonic

I broke the tip section of my Sage Z-Axis 7136 a couple of weeks ago. I contacted Sage and was told I could get a replacement tip section for it, so I was pretty happy. I built the rod from a blank and used some pretty nice components on it. Imagine my disappointment today when Sage told me, sorry, they got it wrong. Some Z-Axis they can replace sections for, but not the two-handed models. So they will offer me a Sage Sonic as replacement, presuming the Sonic had a 7136 in its lineup. The price would be good, $195, for a complete rod, not just a tip section. They won't mix sections from different models. I've never seen a Sonic, let alone cast one. Is this a rod I should want? Lern' me 'bout this please.

I believe the Sonic is a retooled One, precursor to and softer than the X. I don’t have personal experience with that series, but I love my MODs from the same era as the One.
Sorry for your loss

My friend broke his Euro 9140 three years ago. Sage fixed it and used horrible bright yellow wraps on the repaired tip section (didn't match other threads by a long shot). Then the following year it exploded on him while casting. He probably had hit it or something because it shattered the section above the Grip. Anyways they (Sage) replaced it with the Sonic and I believe he paid $175.00. They also let him choose a new configuration and he went with the 7136-4. He loves it. I think he's throwing a 510 skagit on it.
