Up for sale is a pair of Ross fly reels. I’d like to sell them together. These would be great for someone starting out fly fishing. Both reels are sized for 5 or 6 weight lines and both will come with their original pouches. I think $150 for the pair shipped (CONUS) is a fair price, but I will entertain reasonable offers.
The Rhythm 2 is in excellent condition. I always store my reels with the drags backed completely off. The drag on this one is smooth and strong and the spool spins smoothly. There are a couple of tiny dings on the edges, but you have to look hard to see them. They don’t effect the function whatsoever. The inside of the pouch was beginning to show some wear, so I made a duct tape patch. You can’t see it from the outside when closed. This reel does not include line or backing.
The Flywater has seen some use, but still functions as it should. Drag is smooth and strong and the spool spins smoothly. It has suffered some boat rash over the years, which I covered over with a black marker a couple of years ago. Can’t speak to its permanence, but it’s stayed on so far. This reel will come spooled with backing and a RIO (pretty sure) WF5F fly line which I ran through a cleaning and conditioning patch this morning. Should work just fine.
