Rivertrip Packing List

Snakes

Steelhead
Greetings,

Curious what's on your overnight or multi-day packing lists. I mean, I'm maybe not looking for the full list. Like...you can leave things like "water" and "fly rod" off. But if there's something in your top 5. Stuff that might be a little unique...or that you always forget to bring and then wish you had once you're out on the river. That kind of stuff would be cool to see. Or what the heck. Just copy and paste your full list too. Anything goes...

Tight lines (does anyone say that anymore...cause I don't think anyone still says that, except I just did. Although I'd only say it on the internet. Never in real life.)

Benadryl
Sunscreen
Bug repellent
Dental floss
Headlamp
Dude wipes
Deodorant
Wash cloth and towel (microfiber)
Advil
Good first aid kit
Gorilla tape
Aquaseal
Super glue
Solar charger for electronics
Earplugs
Cortisone cream
Waterproof pillow
Bandanas

I have an excel spreadsheet for my drift boat float trips. Once an item is in the to go pile, it is crossed of the list with a thick black sharpie. When the page is mostly black, I am confident that everything is packed. Important, because once you leave the launch, you are going to do without it for 4 to 5 days…. Probably not the detail you are looking for, but over time you can develop your own list for your trips.

I know you didn't want to hear about water, but if I'm going for more than one night I take something like this instead of packing water.

Delorme (now Garmin) Inreach
Lifestraw
Hank of parachute cord
Fire starter kit
Whistle
Bivy sack
Signal mirror
Compass
Small first aid kit
Sharp knife

It all fits in a small fanny pack I always have in my jeep, goes into my pack when hiking into a stream or river to fish for the day

Incredible stuff guys, thanks for sharing!!! Already getting a number of ideas here on what I need to add/include on my list.

I’ve been doing this for a long-time now and can’t imagine my list would’ve gone stale, but I’m realizing I’ve got a few missing pieces to fill in.

Awesome stuff!

That check list is pretty comprehensive.
One thing might be aluminum for both cooking and for being able to lock your smart key in your car.
Toilet stuff (wag bags, screw top 5 gallon buckets, hand sanitizer etc.)
Hammock
Maybe some safety stuff like throw bags and z-drag system if you know how to use it.
Bear bagging/small critter protection stuff
Spare oar

Speaking of small critters, dryer sheets, like Bounce, keep critters out of your foodstuffs in camp.

Do not skimp on the first-aid kit or safety items like those mentioned above....

You do not know what you need until you need it when you need it most...

Too many practical ideas here…I always make sure I have a small Bluetooth speaker, phone and portable charger. Gotta have tunes on the boat and/ or camp.

What in the world are dude wipes?

I was really happy to see so much emphasis on safety gear and first aid kits. OTOH, not a fan of speakers and (other people's) music in the wilderness.
