NFR RIP In Peace Cybertruck

Non-fishing related
My love for Tahoe's/Suburbans (now on my 6th) started with a 66' Chevy Suburban Carryall. That rig took me up and down the west coast and to Baja on surf trips back when #1 didn't run from border to tip and we had to probe and poke our way down to Scorpion Bay in summer and the Seven Sisters in winter.
Bought one pickup truck over the decades and within months flipped it for another Suburban. Well over a half million miles between all those rigs and not once was I ever stuck on the side of the road. Outside of pouring gravel into the back, not much a 1/2 ton truck can do a Sub or Tahoe can't, and a futon in the back of a Sub makes for comfortable sleeping quarters. Can slip 10' rods into my current Tahoe with room to spare.

I was passing through Bend last week and wondered if this was your ride:

I wonder what percentage of full size trucks are actually used as trucks.
I read years ago that the manufacturers discovered that over half the pickups sold were for EDD (every day driver) grocery getter type service rather than truck specific use. That is why they upgraded truck interiors for comfort, even carpeted floors, and a softer non-truck style ride. So self fulfilling prophecy, even a higher percentage of trucks sold are never, or at least seldom, used for truck specific duty. And why WA state stopped selling truck licenses based on tonnage and based the license fee on value. Do you remember that license tabs for pickups used to drop to $10 when the truck reached 10 years of age cuz $10 was the lowest fee based on tonnage capacity.

Was in Moab this spring and a ton of cool Chevy/GMC trucks were in town for a big show. Here's one in front of the Uranium building. The show itself was fun, the parade through town was awesome, lots of hydraulics on the low riders. A love for a truck relates to affordable ways you can mod it, the cybertruck doesn't seem condusive to that..
