Politics aside, he was one of Dr. King’s last remaining protégés . A generation of commitment is passing replaced by, well I don’t really know. Politics back in the discussion, you never doubted where he stood. I really can’t say better than that.
My generation was very fortunate to have three icons: MLK, Lewis, and Jackson from the Memphis bridge lore. Unfortunately, they are have all passed now. The world is a much better place due to all their efforts; each in their own way.
