I stumbled upon this reel recently and was wondering if anyone knew anything more about it. Got it a local garage sale. Did some digging and I'm thinking it's an old Reuben Heaton 38 (guessing built somewhere around 1900-1930).
But I could be very wrong.
It's got a movable line guide, and has a stamp that says "made in england" on the front plate. Anyone recognize it and/or know if im assuming correctly?
Now to find a bamboo rod to pair it with....
