So did you devirginize the bamboo rod yet??
Yes, took it out last Tuesday, was able to pick up one on it, then switched back to my graphite. That thing is a beast to cast (but fun) and after casting and stripping for around 20 minutes, switching back to my regular rod was like casting with a toothpick.

They must’ve had forearms like Popeye back in the day……three piece 9’ bamboo rods with a heavy reel to balance it….makes for HEAVY!! That’s why I fish bamboo under 7’ and mostly one piece. Get in touch with me when you’re ready to turn that beast into a Hotrod!
