Anyone have an old Redington Drift 3/4 collecting dust? Looking to put one on one of my old 4wts for my 8 year old.

Thanks

Scott

How about a Redington AS 3/4?
It has a little bit of surface wear on one edge and the drag dial, but otherwise in good shape. (If you're looking for spotlessly mint, no worries about passing on it!)
It came with a rod I bought at auction, and I haven't used it much. Solid little reel. Line on it that might be a 4wt Cortland DT? 1000008182.jpg

If that looks like something your son would like, it's yours, no charge. Let me know asap, tho: You're in Bham, right? It just so happens I'm running up there briefly on Sat morning (10:30ish.) I could drop it at the fly shop for you to pick up at your convenience, or meet you there if you prefer

nice work Northern
I think this actually closed a little karmic PNWFF loop!

I'm not 100% certain, but I think this reel was originally part of a donation to our Mayfly Project chapter (https://themayflyproject.com/) by our own @Stonedfish a couple of years ago. It was paired with a separately donated rod for our fundraising auction. I ended up bidding on & winning that combo myself because I liked the older glass 4wt, but I had another little reel that I felt matched up better, so the Redington just sat forlornly on a shelf. (Call me odd, but I weirdly feel bad for fly gear that doesn't get out... like it's lonely or something, lol.)
Then this post from @Scottybs pops up just a couple days before I happen to have a rare trip to his area planned, and voilà; now a PNWFF-adjacent 8 year old gets this tough little reel for Xmas!
I think I saw the Redington smile when I told it where it was going 😁
