Rod Building Rainshadow

This is the last of the 3 Baston Rainshadow Unity rod kits I bought last Fall. It’s Rx3 graphite which makes it a medium flex, which is good for its intended use. These are great small rods for a little cash. I’ve been impressed with the quality of the blank. It’s forest green and just glows in the light. I used chestnut thread and grey trim bands. The reel seat is reversible and I chose down loading as is traditional with small rods. It’s a 7’6”-4#, 4 piece with single foot guides..

I love Rainshadow blanks, and have a 5wt I'm about build for a friend in Colorado! I also have another one, a 10'8" 4pc rod that I'll build as a switch rod, and maybe fish it as an Euro nymph rod as well.

I've used the RS blanks for decades and they are a great value and rock! Cheers!
