Rain

There ain't shit for snow up in the Olympics...looking at them up close everyday has been odd seeing no snow for months, not only that but when it's breezy you can see dust blowing around on the upper peaks.

Yakima Basin Crops were apparently strong.

A favorite local stream's flow was quite low a couple of weeks ago low and I was suprised that I went 5 for 8 over 4 hours considering how much the stream had changed from last winter and spring high water.

"Lowest I have ever seen it"! Has anyone counted the number of times you have seen/heard this comment? At least two of our local lakes are considerably lower than anyone could have ever imagined! Others are lower than I have ever seen with the local river at a trickle! I am convinced its ether a hoax or part of a cycle!

We had some decent rain yesterday. Unfortunately it was mainly in the lowlands and not much in the upper drainage of the Skagit. As a result the river is still nearly gin clear and still low. However, I think the coho smelled it and we got a fresh push. This morning it took only about 15 casts to bring two of my biggest this year to the net. I was back at the ramp before 8.

Used to love fishing those November Silvers on the Sol Duc, some truly huge fish late in the year.
I imagine the Skagit was the same way.

That's Middle fork snoqualmie looking upstream from the big bridge 10/22. An easy wade for October and probably the lowest I have seen it but then again I don't go up there much. Looks very, very low for this time of year. Suspect next week it will look way different.

Went to Glide Oregon over the weekend.
The NU at Colliding Rivers is L O W.
I think I have only seen it that low once before in my 60+ years.
Let it rain.

At least we got some in October! Cooler temps and snow in the mountains keeping rivers low. Back from Camano Island beach stay. No takes from the beach but did well on winter crab thanks to my son and his wife paddle boarding pots. Steak and fresh crab and a Seahawks win last night topped the trip.
