Rain

Like a kid before Christmas...

Wait. It's burning again?
Yes, near Austin Hot Springs. Used to be Portland General Electric property, now Warm Springs property. Bagby Hot Springs is just out of the burn zone off the Clackamas River. No, this is not AI, burning on the other side of the river, some areas were burned in 2020.

Thunder above Renton Highlands

Dammit!!!

Now continuous rolling thunder, temp dropped 15 to 20 degrees, and huge down pour
At 4:45 I was getting ready to participate in a short biweekly national HF ECOM exercise at 5:00 PM. I heard the rolling thunder and a quick weather radar check showed a front moving into the S PS region from the SE. I secured my station and disconnected my antennas to protect my equipment. Better luck next time.

We had a surface area of low pressure centered just south of us near Newport which spawned numerous showers and thunderstorms to rotate through the area. I just checked and we ended up with 2.55" for two days which provided a much needed bump to the local rivers. That should help spread out the fishing effort which has been tidewater focused for the past few weeks. Trying to swing flies around a crowd of trollers, bobber dudes and spinner tossers is not my favorite thing to do.

It feels like we went from dog days of summer to 'fall is here' overnight in the Roseburg OR area. But looking at the calendar it appears we'll be getting some nice weather, sunny and in the 70's <edit> in about week starting Monday <\edit>. Probably not time to pull in the lawn furniture just yet.
