Rain

Just had a torrential wet freight train roll thru that reminded me of the Tucson monsoons...DANG!!

there's rain...and than there's rain

"Last month, Hawaii was hit by back-to-back Kona low storms separated by just a few days, and the state was inundated with more than 2 trillion gallons of water. Areas such as Haleakala received over 36 inches of rain in a 24-hour period, according to Thomas Giambelluca of the Hawaii Climate Data Portal, far exceeding what is typically expected in a once-in-a-1,000-year storm event."
I have a friend who was on island just after. He said the rain indirectly closed many locations they wanted to surf. Apparently the flash flooding killed a lot of feral goats and pigs, washing the carcasses into the ocean. It set up a feeding frenzy situation with the local shark populations and they didn't want tourists to get munched.

It's Snowing at 380' in Central Pierce, big wet flakes.

Almost an inch in 10 minutes ❄️
It's only 35° but will probably be gone by morning.

The Hell starts on Monday with the first 80-degree day of the year here in the NCW. Good bye cool pillow nights and hello brown yard.

Thank you for saving water by not watering your lawn. Plus you will be saving money so you can buy more fly fishing stuff.

Win. Win.

80⁰ Sunday and Monday...

Some beach fisherman will be not around, so your odds may improve.

:)

Rain ya ask??
Not anytime soon in my neck of the woods.
South in Douglas County, looks like rain, lightning, and thunder this weekend for three days.

Glad my daughter came over Thursday and installed the a/c in the slider. It is supposed to be pushing close to 90 on Sunday. Since this is an old building with minimum of roof vents, it can get really warm in here. At least me and the house potato will be comfortable and set up for summer.

I read some interesting articles yesterday regarding the 1877 El Niño event after mention of it popped up in a newsfeed I visit.

How’s that relate to tuna and other big game fishing in the NW…closer or farther from shore? Better or worse salmon and steelhead runs?

Not sure on the tuna. The warm water might make for some interesting catches this summer. El Niño events are generally bad for salmon and steelhead. In the PNW, La Niña are much preferred.
