Rain and more rain

Surprised we haven't had a weather thread in awhile. It has been pouring a cool rain the last two mornings. I can't recall a summer ever this cool and moist. I don't think we have had a day over 90. Hopefully it continues right through into the fall/winter and tops off the Odessa chain of lakesπŸ™‚

It looks like the party might be over come Monday.:(

I'm honestly ready for summer to start....although spending nearly 2 weeks in a desert has certainly pushed that urge back a little bit. The nice thing about this whole overcast thing is that my "local" tigers seem a little more active and willing (good thing if I want to get one on top---it's gonna happen---been putting in some work).

All that said, our entire region would certainly benefit from a lower than average temperature and a higher than average rainfall throughout the summer.

This is from a few days ago. In the greater Soap Lake area. Most years this would be pretty dry by now. I know they had a wildfire recently. But one isn't too bad compared to most years....View attachment 21601
Man... I do miss that spot. Some day I'll return.

This spring, WDFW set seine nets to capture and spawn Lahontan cutthroat at Lenore as the feeder stream where they normally trap trout was BONE dry. Water levels in Alkali lake, the streams source, were inadequate to water up the crick. I noticed two weeks ago that the creek had flow in it. Amazing. And it rained again last night! Love it.

My wife and I are waiting for a dry day so we can restain a wood fence, in the meantime, I'm getting a reprieve from staining this fence, one of my absolute all time least favorite things to do: paint. RAIN!

Marine layer again this morning.
No rain in the forecast, but I have no complaints.
I went up Little river the other day to check on flow.
The river is much higher than the last two years at this time.
It's gonna be tough wet wading in places to get to some of the better pocket water.

This weather is pretty typical for Oregon…1970s thru the mid-80s.

It would be even more typical, if the rain started in Sept and ended July 5th. πŸ˜‰

My lawn hasn't been this green in July for as long as I can remember.
Cloudy mornings, sunny afternoons but not too hot. Perfect!
Was sunny yesterday afternoon at my place but we had a good rain last night.
I'm with @Paige ....keep it going all summer right into fall.

Billy, I don't believe you! Everyone knows it doesn't rain in eastern Washington. When I was driving to MT a couple weeks back, the hottest stretch of the entire trip was Moses Lake to Spokane.

Must admit however, this spring and summer is one for the books. I went and bought some lawnmower gas yesterday, cuz, well, the grass just keeps on growing. Then it rained yesterday afternoon and evening, so the lawn is all wet. Hope it dries out soon as it's definitely looking like it needs mowin'.

yeah, my dandelion farm needs to be mowed too....thanks alot rain!

I just switched to electric mower, weed eater, and blower. Love this technology.

When my six year old Honda lawn mower wouldn't start this spring, the local Honda shop said "four or five weeks wait", I hired a lawn service, ordered a new carburetor, installed it, the motor started and I sold the mower. #lawnserviceforever #moretimetopaintfences #moretimetofish and most importantly #moretimeforgrandkids

Our streams are still fuller than opening day of the last few years, love it, even though it's not worth fishing at this time. The lake has got an extra 7' feet of cleanish, cooler water. It's never fished this well, this late, that I can remember. Just spent 90 minutes weed wacking and mowing, usually I'm done with regular maintenance by now. Been liking the clouds, but they broke yesterday and my arms are a bit red today.

Here in Beautiful Butte, it has rained every day. But it happens is spurts. It might be clear one minute and give it a little time and it will cloud up and rain. It got so damn dark the other day from the dark clouds, that I thought it was about 10 pm. It was 3 pm. The sun is shining and the sky is clear but they said 50% we will get rained on.

Rough go for all the hay and cherry farmers but I'm loving it! Next week looks a bit hot though.
A bunch of wheat is laying down too, hopefully not too much disease or sprouting. Could be a big year.
