Has anyone bought from DriftBoatPlans.com? Website says they are based in Eugene, Oregon.

I'm thinking of getting a Dierks, Removeable Bow Mount Anchor System with Jam Cleat, to help in my Lake Fishing. They seem to be the only source that has that particular item in stock.

Any input is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Bob

I bought the side pull conversion kit from them around 2019, what sort of input are you looking for? They took my money and sent me the items.

Had a Dierks system(front and rear) on my driftboat for 10 years. Worked well.

Thanks guys. I was just making sure they were legit.

Hey @Modest_Man. How did you install that side pull conversion kit? Curious as, my rear, right side, Dierks, anchor system works great. It looks to me like everything (my side pulleys and the cleat system behind my front box seat), are aluminum welded. However, the rear anchor is bolted on. I was looking at it last week trying to figure out how to replace those things if needed.

Hi Bob,

I think they are legit, no prob.

On a side note, I am having a chronic low-grade irritation with my Dierks anchor rope jam cleat. Slips too often. It almost seems like the ridges need to be sharper?

My rear anchor pulley was already bolted to the rear center. I just drilled and bolted on the pulleys along the side gunnel and the jam cleat bracket to the stiffening brace near my right knee. I can take some photos this evening if it would help.

They do have some photos of how to mount stuff on the site- https://driftboatplans.com/anchorinstall

Only time I've had mine slip I haven't jammed it into the cleat well enough, usually in slack water or eddies. Any current where it has sufficient pull it has stayed put.

@Modest_Man ,

I just talked with Dave Edwards at DriftBoatPlans.com. Super, super nice gentleman who talked me through how to mount the Removable Bow Anchor. Dave recommended I get the simple Jam Cleat System vs. the Sure Lock Cleat system, as I wanted to be able to drop the front anchor of the Driftboat, while sitting in the rowers seat.

Thanks again all. Stoked as I think this will make it so much easier, fishing Lakes.

Be well all.

Bob

They wear out. Replaced mine last year after trying a couple different ropes
