Its hard to feel confident in the number of fish that are "paper fish". Using MA 9-11 numbers just released, 66% of MA 9 fish, 67% of MA10 fish, and 57% of MA11 fish are paper chinook (defined as the difference between reported quota fish and actual fish checker counted fish). I am at least glad its different across the three areas, but would definitely like to know and see the data that translates actual counted fish to quota fish.Paper chinook
sorry, but I'm confused as I thought the sound was closed for kings at this time. I do like the fish though.Material chinook this am on dirty gear. Maybe 6-8 pounds. Not small enough to throw back so to Home Depot for some new shelving for the rest of my day off. I plan on making a dent in this quota.View attachment 122265View attachment 122266

Buddy, you should eat that fish rather than just putting it on a shelf.Material chinook this am on dirty gear. Maybe 6-8 pounds. Am I reading the regs correctly?
If I am on a MA10 beach tomorrow (Sat 7/27) and I manage to land some coho, I am allowed to harvest 2 coho, no minimum size, and it doesn't matter if they are clipped or not.
Thanks, I'll do my best! That is correct.
Please substitute one of your coho though with a clipped king.

About 8:30 I saw a large shiny object in the top few feet of water slowly coming towards me from 60-70 feet away. When it got to about 40 feet I realized it was a flasher, when it got to 25 feet I realized it was being towed by a fish. At 20 feet away it turned and swam parallel to the beach right in front of me. I threw a few casts at it to no avail. Since it was going down the beach I backed out of the water and started to follow it. I caught a few good looks at it, a nice sized king. I chased it down the beach throwing casts in front and over it trying to floss up the flasher to no avail. After about 300 yards of this it turned and went straight away from the beach and I didn't see it again.
