It's a great-looking fish.Got another rezzie this morning, about the same size as the last one, 2.5-3lbs. After fishing for stocked trout and bass the past 6 months I forgot how exciting it is when fish pull drag

Sure it looks nice and organized for now, won’t take much to get all messed upGetting ready for the short July MA 9 opening. Was off last week to fish elsewhere so will need to fish around work schedule this Thurs. and Fri. Box is ready though. I’ll supplement through the full 9/10 season as needed.

Nah. As exciting as it is watching coho slash top water flies, I do like to feel a tug once in awhile. IMO poppers have their time and place…just usually not where and when I’m fishingWhat...no Poppers?
Not that I know where you’re at but I do like the crowd that I see.View attachment 121613
1/2 today with a ~20in fish landed and kept. Not many around (yet).
Had lunch and watched a beach with nobody catching, asked a lady reading if she saw any landed and said not one for the past 4hrs.

Indeed! However there is about 8 others fishing left of the photo. I did have one beach to myself early but only for about an hour until a few others showed up.Not that I know where you’re at but I do like the crowd that I see.

When the schools of small juvie coho are around I’ve definitely hooked some eyeballs. Really sucks and I always feel terrible. Stinger flies seem to be the culprit when it does happen. Let’s me know I need to change out to a standard fly in that scenario.Better today, 2/2 on little 3 lbers. Both clipped, but no ice chest so it’s their lucky day.
Small sample size, but I feel like the rezzies I’m seeing this summer are a touch smaller than last year’s cohort. The fish I caught were decently fat, though, and looked healthy.
In an unsavory first, I felt a little tick as I was stripping in, and when my fly made it back to me, there was a coho eyeball on it. Bummer. Anyone ever had that happen?
Not much action until the current set up a beautiful murky water / clear water divide along a rip about 60 feet out. That setup is how the Puget Sound fish gods tell you they love you and want you to be happy. Cast out into the clear water, get hit in the first 10 feet or so of murk. The bait was really popping in that zone too.
Now I’m gonna dig into a Villebilly breakfast at the Hansgrill (hot spotting!). Hope everyone else got into a fish or two today.
