Puget Sound

Stayed local today. Perfect PNW weather with clouds, wind and rain. 50° when I started at 5:00 and 52° called it quits at 10:30. Good morning bite with some fry getting hammered and plenty of jumping targets to cast at. Goldish colored clouser worked well. Some nice size crabs around.

Nice Brian! Whose dog is that? :)

Hit the beach this morning at 5:00.
Pretty windy and the tide, though nearly identical to yesterday didn’t do shit. Water went from super clear to dirty due to the wind waves.
Around 10 fish to hand, but nothing size wise. Best pattern was my spin on a small gray over white clouser @Wanative showed me a couple years ago.
Called it a day at 10:00 to do yard work.

Love that second pic, Brian!

@Kfish and I hit the salt early this morning. Launched around 5:15 and Lou had a fish on within the first few casts. Slow though. I think the fish in this part of the salt may still be upriver making little cutties. We both hooked up a number of times but all small fish. Called it quits after a couple hours and hit a lake. Biggest for me. The rest were sub 10 inches.

The mate is on! First fish a slab. Is your yellow and white clouser still the goto?

Yes, tan over yellow over white has been working along with gray over white.
The boot eaters were fairly aggressive today taking on size 14’s.

Nice work Brian. Encounter any coho, or silvers? Might even have been a few sea runners around.

Nick,
Funny, but I haven’t caught a resident coho this year. Even more odd is no silvers either. Sea runners have been seen though.

I know @Stonedfish is probably about to fall into a deep state of reverse seasonal affective disorder, but it sure seems like the weather was making a turn to pleasant land this afternoon after the shit show of the last couple days…

I just picked up a new one, I got the SIMM’s Intruder Sun Hoody. It has a button up front (actually snaps) like a fishing shirt, but elastic cuffs not the goofy button ones you have to roll up and dick with the strap to hold them. And obviously the hood. So it’s like a hoody/shirt combo. I like it, should be good in the heat.

June in western Washington is a disturbing mix of solstice parade, shirtless elder guys, and cottage cheese thighs. Pray for clouds!
Who wants to go to the solstice parade undressed as DimeBrite suggests? Picturing a mob of PNWTFFErs pushing Stones' mildew vehicle, some pink capped swimming sortabeauty lolling about on the roof, Stones leading the whole nightmarish mess, lugging a big trash bag full of random junk he finds on the parade route, maybe he's also carrying a stick with a ghostly effigy of Herring Dan suspended from it....the rest of us throw handfuls of seaglass at the kids
