Puget Sound

First time going out looking for sea run cutthroat on my own and just got one to hand, a few bites, and a long distance release.
I ended up staying at one spot all day so I could learn the beach a bit. A lot of jumpers at early morning high tide and then was dead the rest of the day. Trying out a new beach tomorrow in a completely different area. Lots to learn and improve on.

Have pretty much decided to eliminate the need to trailer the boat for better than 3 hours each time I want to fish the canal and seriously looking at a property down in Brinnon. Is there anyone here who lives in or fishes that area on a regular basis? If so I would appreciate some insights and the chance to meet someone who might enjoy doing a little poking around. Will have guest quarters and a well stocked kitchen if needed.

That’s is late, but also good. The cutts will remember them later into the fall when coho fishing is done come 10/1.

Termite hatch is going pretty good this evening...
FYI

Hit an MA 10 beach this morning looking for coho. 0-0 over two hours. Saw two caught with herring. Moved to a different beach looking for cutts and went 2-3 on those with a surprise 3.5 lb coho thrown in the mix.

Hitting a new beach, in a new to me MA for coho tomorrow. Hoping for some late season magic!

Headed south to try for cutts today. Hooked a real nice fish that imitated a coho, with three jumps directly back at me. Slack line and gone. A few more fish hooked, but none to hand. Only saw two jumpers all day. Glass like water and bright sun aren’t my favorite fishing conditions.
I added another dozen or so golf balls to my collection. The first shot rang out at 7:30 this morning from the shooter to ring in the day. They were still shooting when I left at noon. I don’t envy being their neighbors. I’ll be doing something different tomorrow.
