Brother laser/scanner/fax for me as well. Like the others inkjet’s dried/clogged w/ my infrequent use. That and at the cost of ink cartridges they should give you the printer for free.

We were tired of buying (and recycling) expensive ink cartridges, so we replaced it with an Epson ET-3850. It uses refillable ink and the bottles last forever. It's also been rock solid an much nicer to use than the HP.

I am satisfied with a Brother laser L23400 black/only printer. There are times color printing would be helpful, and I wouldn't mind getting rid of the separate scanner. So, anyone like a Brother color printer/scanner?

We have had a small simple HP Laserjet 1018 for 16 or so years. We don't do all that much printing. Works well and makes good clean copies. The ink cartridges are spendy, but Mrs. Salmo uses it for her part-time job, and the business buys the new cartridges, maybe one a year.

Buzzy, I'm going through the same thing...looking for a different printer after just buying a new Brother. I'm about ready to set fire to this one and send it to WM. I have had to clean the jets every time, after even printing a single copy and even then the quality is still crappy. I printed a lot during the Catchercraft years and whatever brand I had, it worked fine. Only needed to change cartridges when it ran out. Unfortunately, it worked so good, I don't even remember the brand. I just need to copy, print, and scan maybe a couple times a week. I was about to get one at Costco so at least if it went sideways, I could return it. This Brother I have now I bought at Office Depot or something like that and chair at the same time. Had nothing but trouble with it. I need to send you a text and give you my fishing reports. ;)

Hi BDD - Looking forward to the text, I was thinking about you! I still haven't pulled the pin on buying a printer .... fishing? Smells like Pepe LePew around here.
