For a while now I’ve been fascinated with primitive fishing methods, especially those from NW coast tribes. Ive been dreaming of catching a pink with hand made line, hook and fly. Maybe using a bull kelp whip shooting head/hand line of sorts? It’s fun to imagine at least🀣

This video focuses on some of the methods from the Channel Islands area. Pretty cool to see how some of these fishing tools were made.

That was cool…makes you appreciate how hard it was to secure food and cook it back then…

We probably have similar YouTube algorithm, that video was suggested to me a few weeks back and I watched it too. Pretty cool stuff. Halibut hooks construction and fishing technique is also another cool watch.
 
Great video, Like they said well worth your time. King County Library has a copy of that book and you can request it! Super stuff...
