Pretty cool...

It's also REALLY expensive.
...(no Evan, I'm not shouting, just emphasis)
be interesting to know projected 10 yr maintenance and charging costs of the E-ferry vs a similar diesel powered ferry's fuel and maintenance costs.
The Nordic countries diesel fuel prices are over $7 a gallon, and were that price when I was managing projects in Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland back in the 2000's.
The 65' Ed Monk steel charter boat I captained in my youth was powered by twin 6-71's. When running at typical cruising speed of 12 knots they consumed an average of 20 gph, which in today's Euro fuel prices would cost approx $140 an hour. And the bigger the ferry, the bigger the engines, and the more fuel consumed.
And that's not addressing the pollution issue of running straight stack diesels within city limits.
Nice to know some countries are still preparing for the future instead of retreating from it.

6 -71's were never known for their economy, or even their power. One reason why the army moved away from them in the 80's.
I've seen that E Foil in several newsfeeds over the last year. Never mind charging costs, just purchase cost for that thing are stupid expensive.

Yeah the idea has merit. Trouble is, how does it scale for max efficiency and ROI?
