Portland, Or over Thanksgiving

Hi,
Coming to Portland for a week for Thanksgiving. I will have my 10 year old son was wondering if this time is good for steelhead in the area? Any guide recommendations also appreciated.

Normally I would prefer a DIY trip but I just had surgery want to make sure my son gets most of the attention.

Should be a good number of winter fish around. Portland Fly Shop will get you in the zone.

Personally, I take November and December off entirely from fishing. Only two months of the year I can't get motivated to go.

Portland Fly Shop dudes may have a program to take folks, but it's definitely not peak season for much of anything.

I don’t start chasing steelhead until new year’s. But you can head east to the Deschutes. Beautiful over there in the fall.
