Photo Recovery Software?

Does anyone have a specific photo recovery software they like for deleted/formatted photos on memory cards?

Back in the day I used Photorescue, but it no longer appears to be under active development.

So you wiped a memory card and want to retrieve what was nuked?

Yes. More or less. Longer story. But the end result is the same.
As far as I know that isn't going to be possible. I've looked in to it before and it's likely gone for good.

Why I pretty much always dump anything straight to cloud. Dropbox and copies in Google drive.

Sorry, cannot be of any help. Have no idea about recovery of deleted files of any sort (as Evan B, multiple backups is all I know).

If the card hasn't been overwritten check with the forensics section of a large urban police department or a district attorney's office in a large jurisdiction. They know people…

Who is the manufacturer of your memory card? Go to their website and they will/may recommend what software/app they would use.

For example SanDisk recommends using RescuePRO® and RescuePRO® Deluxe.

Also Android and Windows already have built in tools to recover files. Some are very easy to use too... I am not familiar with MacOS stuff so can not help there...

Many software vendors will allow you to install a demo version and try it. They will limit the number of files you can restore e.g. 3, but at least you can check it out... As I am sure you know it also depends on what happened to the memory card and how much recovery can be done...

Maybe this will help...
