Pearrygin Lake Winthrop

I will be spending a few days camping and cycling with friends at the State Park mid-September. All of my previous visits have been in winter to play in the snow so this is my first visit when casting a fly is feasible. I was planning on taking my float tube and hoping the lake is cool enough to fish. Any words of wisdom regarding hatches and/or expectations for the lake in mid-September? Thanks!!
Steve

In my opinion, cool enough is the key. It is pretty much a put and take Lake.

Take your gear and make the decision when you get there. It will be after school starts.

There are other lakes in the area, higher up, which may be cooler.

My cut off fishing temp is 65 surface.

Nice area, a lot of possibilities.

if you can make the time, take white knuckler Hart's Pass rd up to Slate peak, amazing views.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I'll pass on a white knuckler! I don't do well with heights, steep drop-offs, cliffs, etc. The funny thing is, I used to rock climb a little bit many years ago back when I was still relatively immortal. Nowadays, the Road to the Sun and similar exposures give me the heebie jeebies:(.
