NFR PayPal question.

Thanks @Evan B, tried upgrades already, only shows the various options starting at $5, so I think that means I have no account, but I still get the monthly charge - I'll keep working on it. Thanks

And really, PayPal is usually VERY good about disputed charges. They take the side of the purchaser almost every time. Every time I have ever disputed a PayPal charge, or reported not receiving merchandise paid for, they took care of it every time. Keep trying, it really shouldn't be that difficult. Unless VS somehow has a sneaky way of making that happen.

Thinking out loud: Contact your credit card company and tell them to deny all charges from the other place?

Tried that, the only way they will do that is to cancel the current card and issue a new one - would prefer to avoid that if possible.

I know we're not suppose to bring up the other site, but I'm having an issue cancelling that, ie, I don't have a PP account, they process my credit card as @Evan B just laid out - they continue to do so even though I have downgraded at WFF. I contacted WFF, they say they cannot do anything, have to go through PP, I contacted PP, they say they cannot do anything, I need to contact the vendor, tried the Chris@WashingtonFlyFishing.com - comes bouncing back as undeliverable - any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

cheers
PayPal canceled my WFF payments at my request when I was on the phone with them getting my account back up and running.

That's the issue, I don't have an account, it was an automatic payment through my credit card, PayPall was the processor - I called Paypal, they said they couldn't do anything since I'm not the person with the account - did seem strange - might try again with a efferent "Help" person on the phone.

Yeah that doesn't seem right. PayPal is still processing the payments. They can absolutely stop it.

I'd message the VS admins, too. They absolutely have the power to fix this.

Another thing you could do: make a post on WFF raising a stink about it. You should absolutely not have this much trouble canceling, especially when both PayPal and WFF have the power to do this. My only concern is that the paypal acct you're still connected to may not belong to VerticalScope since it was previously Chris' acct. So since Chris is unreachable, that could be an issue. Either way, PayPal can and should be able to fix this for you. Be sure to tell PayPal you have no way to contact the "merchant" any longer.

Yup, I will start flaming soon - You nailed the issue though I think, VerticalScope claims they have any power with the PayPal payment since it was tied to Chris's account - The money is going somewhere, just do not know where at this point - am I the only one with this issue?

cheers

How was it resolved? In case anyone else is still having issues.

Click on " #149 " - did not want to duplicate posts. I suspect since @Brute also received the same notification this morning, Chris went in and cancelled all such accounts.
