Cool video. His rod in the tree issue is why I won't go over 10'. I like the way he talks about clearing out an area. I like to fish this way, but frankly he's working to hard. That water screams to be fished down stream with a 8' bamboo or glass rod, swinging a brace of wets, sweeping 'em up two, three at a time.

Sometimes I go fishing.
I move WAY too fast to fish this way. 10 casts in 1 spot and I’m already itching for the next spot. I love fishing my euro rod but I can’t fish this slow. ADHD I guess. Definitely picked up some ideas though from this video so thanks for posting!
That's me too. But also by choice. I know for a fact that I leave plenty of trout on the table, but I'd rather move around than be a statue. Personal preference....I seem to get into a few regardless....

The competition scene has its own bias and I get that these techniques aren’t for everyone.
The neat thing about these folks is that they have tested their theories all over the world and had the results independently verified. Few can make that claim.
In my observation, most fly fishing gospel is based on nothing but the hot air of some “expert” that has only fished in one place. I find the authenticity of the competition scene to be a nice change.
