On Saturday, Pass was up to 64 degrees and the water had started turning the familiar green. Fish were mostly on the bottom until near sundown. I was able to coax one beauty with an Elk Hair Caddis on the surface, and others with minnow patterns and streamers. My first fight was a bruiser, with those big, slow headshakes and staying well below the surface, indicative of a Brown. I was never able to verify the species because when he finally broke surface one of the mighty-taloned residents took a swipe at it; the result being an LDR with only the fish smiling. After sundown, the bats took over for the swallows, crisscrossing all around my float tube. A few more fish to net, and the bite waned with the light. Another successful trip under the belt.
