I used to really like this line. They discontinued the Type 3 and the Floater. Looks like the intermediate might be next on the chopping block, Cortland website only has 350gr left.Take a look at the Cortland Specialty Compact lines. I have been fishing the floater for years.
Leland.
Zak, so like over submerged weed beds with a nymph or small leech?I use my CQS in lakes, as a slooow sinking line.
Yes, mostly with leeches, dragonfly nymphs, wooly buggers, and half backs.Zak, so like over submerged weed beds with a nymph or small leech?
Most of the lines I have currently are designed for the tip to do a 1-2" ips slow sink with the running line just below the surface. I was targeting beach saltwater coho with a weighted clouser, so as I quickly stripped in was getting a nice rise & fall actionBrad, I've used my saltwater lines in fresh water, like Dry Falls. It was the only line I had at the time, Since we targeted fish in the 0-10 foot range in the salt, I would probably do the same in still water.
Not sure about moving water, perhaps if it was walking speed...
Don't over think it, just use it and see what you think.
