Orvis Superfine Glass

I purchased the 7'6" 3wt rod to fish some smaller streams and was surprised to find out that the new CFO II reel Orvis makes does not fit on the reel seat. The feet on the reel are too thick. Just an FYI if anyone looks at this setup for themselves they don't compliment each other surprisingly. On the plus side, I love how the rod casts and loads.

Thanks for the heads up! I was recently considering the 7'6" 4wt Superfine Glass. I dont have a new CFO but do have the Abel made CFO's. I wonder if this combination would have the same problem?

Not sure exactly but based off of some information I found online about this, the new ones are made with thicker feet that don't fit on a lot of people's rods where as the older CFO's fit.

interesting. It's usually the slide bands that I have issues with.
