Oros Indicators in Bulk

I really like Oros indicators but find their colors to be pretty muted. I am getting ready to buy a bunch of white ones in various sizes and paint them myself. Does anybody know of a place that sells them in bulk and at a discount? The only place I found was a fly shop in Butte and they charge $3.30 each which saves you a whopping 5 cents over the normal cost of a 3 pack.....LOL.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep looking. I have those and they are not near as bright as the ones you self paint.

Srsly, how bright do you really need them? Also, how many of these things are you burning through? I lose probably 1 every couple of years....if that.

Btw, they have proper red/white ones like a real bobber should be.

The other option I have done with these is to switch them up by unscrewing them and then you can mix-n-match halves. So I have white/orange, white/pink/, green/orange...the multicolor is just easier to catch after I look away and then look back and try to find it again. No different than many of the commercial ones that paint half/half. I think it also helps me see subtle bumps or twitches. Just an idea.

I lose about one per outing and older eyes appreciate bright colors…you’ll get there too.
why do you think I like the red/white ones? those are perfect for all lighting conditions....I think if one can't see those on the water, then one should probably not be driving to the river in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

But seriously, how in the world are you losing one per outing? I have a section built into my leader of either 15 or 12lb where my bobber goes, then class tippet off of that via either loop to loop or tippet ring. Come to think of it, the only one I recall actually losing over the last several years was this last winter where my line/leader got wrapped around a log from a winter steelhead. I was lucky to get my line back there.

They're only $3 each at a fly shop in Cle Elum I frequent! The 3 pack I bought was more per bobber. I have enough for me, for the amount of time I nymph!

I am buying a bunch:
1. I am going through the effort to paint them so going to do a bunch to make it worth the time.
2. I am going to give a bunch to some buddies.
3. I am going to Jurassic in November and not going to be short.
4. I like to have orange, pink, green, and white. I use the color best suited for my eyes and the weather at the time.
5. Lose about one a trip.
6. I get dipped a lot and sooner or later they don't hold as well as I'd like to I put on a new one.

Seriously though, if you are losing one per trip, you may want to reconsider how you're rigging them.

I'm sorry, but that just seems pretty inconceivable to me how that's even possible to continue to lose them without making adjustments to stop losing them.

This.

I lose a lot. But not while fishing. I have to tie everything down on my desk. If I leave shit like this out, my kid sneaks off with it.

luckily, my kid never got into stealing shit off my fly fishing area. 2 labs on the other hand....bucktail is a favorite. But, I made adjustments & now it doesn't happen. 🤷‍♂️

This all boils down to one thing. TIppet size. Lighter get more bites but also get broken off in the weeds now and then. Go heavier and get less bites. Sure I could rerig when I change depths so that the indicator is always in a heavier section. But I'd rather spend more time fishing.

I will say that the thing I love most about this indicator, is it's easy to adjust, and stays in place. Like anything, you have to check it periodically, but it's no different than checking your flies and leader for wind knots or weeds...
