Oregon snowpack suddenly looking much better

I've noticed the results can vary depending........... From NRCS this is worse in our region, lower snake, but better than before this front came through.

A lot better than a few days ago, when the southeast was at 40%. Forecast is for more through the week, let's hope so. Even if we don't get to average, the late timing is very beneficial.

Cheers

Still not great, but a whole lot better than what it was a few days ago.

Wait, where are you getting this. The NRCS Snow Survey is still showing dismal snow-rate equivalent:

Edit, Ahh, I see @Evan B is looking at precipitation, not SWE.

We still have a couple more fronts coming through in the next several days, so hopefully we get a good late-season push. The fronts will also likely help SE OR and E MT. The long-term is also suggesting a fairly cool spring, so hopefully it sticks around for a bit.

Just started snowing at my place in Gresham again. I hate it at home but love that the mountains are getting it.

Looks like every county went up a shade. I'll take that!

We had a lot of rain/snow/rain before the snowpack really got going. As I understand it thats really good as that water is still in the system up there. Hopefully this late, wet snow creates a bit of a crust that extends it a bit later in the summer.

Man, southern Oregon is hurting....

19" new snow in the last 48 hours at Mount Bachelor. More snow throughout the coming week. Recharging those Century Drive lakes, yes!!!

Late snow is great snow. I will be staying a cabin today and trying to fish some ponds. We went early this year because it had been too hot in May the last couple times. Oh well...

Do you think the NRCS is a reliable source or is this a group that benefits from negative predictions?

These aren't predictions, they are survey sites results, just like water flow gauges - Yes, I trust it, have you got a better source???

Mount Bachelor was looking thin on snow in February. This should make it look awfully white again. Hopefully those lakes in Central Oregon will see their low water levels improve..

Bachelor just went over the century mark for a base for the first time this year. Although we are behind in average, this late snow is incredibly helpful. I was up at some lakes weekend before last, and they were low - Wickiup is horrible, and Prineville res. is a downright disaster:
