I don't tie many trout flies anymore. I've been buying mine from Big Y as well.

I don't tie any flies smaller than 18/20 anymore as my eyesight, dexterity and patience (mostly patience) have all diminished. I buy tiny dries from Big Y when they have their "big" sale in the late fall. The flies are certainly serviceable, true to the fly type, and will catch fish. They certainly eliminate a lot of cursing when I would tie Tricos. I don't think they will ever be put in a shadow box, but they ae certainly worth the price.

Not sure where they are made, but I always had luck with Hills Discount Flies.
When I used to trout fish more, I’d buy patterns from them that I was to lazy or didn’t want to tie.
I used to buy gift certificates for my ex FIL who lives in Yakima and he would go there and get flies in person. I believe they are no longer located in Yakima though.
