Headed out with @Kfish today to fish a cuttie lake. One more time this spring. The weather is getting warmer and a tell tale sign these native fish need a reprieve was the thick fog we kicked out into. The water was definitely warmer than the mid fifties air temp at daybreak. Warm to the touch. One more early morning session then the harassment will cease until at least this fall.

Good day overall. Better fish were definitely concentrated in deeper sections of this little lake. That said, some nice fish were landed all over. Highlight of today’s trip was the dry fly action in my opinion. Adult damsel dries got these little natives fired up. Super fun on the little Winston 4 weight I don’t get to use enough in western Washington.

Dry damsel fly fishing was fun but the meatier foam body fly @jasmillo was throwing definitely got more attention than my dainty pattern.
Lots of damselfly nymphs crawling around on the lily pads.
We explored a far corner of the lake and there were some fish there but no where the density of the deeper cooler section.

Fun morning!
