Olympics 2024

The Archery final arrow is gnarly! Imagine working for something for four years(well, probably since you were a young child but going all in the last 4) and it comes down to one shot!

@Merle they showed a couple side shots and I was shocked at the arch in their shots.
That is amazing. I didn't realize that the target was 70 meters. At that distance any recurve bow will shoot a large arc. If the bow were held in a vise and the arrows were all perfect in weight and true, it seems like the natural variability between shots would be larger than the size of the bullseye. That is amazing shooting!

I was also impressed by the arc of the shots…I can imagine wind ruining your day …

Female Bol running down the American in the 4x400 mixed relay to win the Gold was an instant classic. She has a smooth full stride.
That was amazing to watch.

The women's 200 IM was also a fun race to watch. Was amazed how the Canadian ran down and passed the US swimmer during the final 50 meters. She made it look so effortless. US would have taken silver and bronze, except that the swimmer that finished third was DQ'd for not completing her backstroke leg on her back and making her turn too soon. That was a bummer.

I am looking forward to watching Bol vs. McLaughlin-Levrone in the 400m hurdles.

Even though they lost to the US, still very impressed with what Luol Deng has done for the South Sudan men’s basketball team and their first appearance in the Olympics, including paying for travel and hotel accommodations out of his own pocket

I had to get off Facebook Reels. Too much of an Italian relay swimmer and some pole vaulter..... Simone Biles was awesome and flawless.

Finally watched the last hour of the women's road cycling. Pretty cool finish.

USWNT beats Germany 1-nil to advance to the gold medal match against the winner of Brazil & Spain…they should have scored a couple more goals…

Emit Elor @ 68kg just started the Ladies Wrestling "on fire" team with a gold medal. Sarah Hilderbrandt @ 50kg will be going for the gold tomorrow.

Looking forward to the women's pursuit finals. How neat would it be to see the young lady from Homer Alaska, of all places, surprise the cycling world twice in the space of 48 hours?

I watched Elor’s previous match against the former gold medalist…she was dominant

Mijain Lopez of Cuba has accomplished an amazing feat having won 5 straight, "record", gold, medals in Greco Roman Wrestling at age 41. First athlete to do this in any Olympic sport! Interesting side story has him wrestling in the finals against his former sparing partner who defected to Chile because he could not beat Lopez.
