But let’s get serious. Have 5 days coming up early July at Pacific Beach area. (Roosevelt Beach/ Copalis Beach area…bringing some conventional gear too. 😱

My son will want to use that…. Have a eagle claw power light 8’6” with Garcia Michell 300 and 10# line and a heavier duty 8’0 Shakespeare 20-30# rating spin gear outfit. Any thoughts on what he can launch off the beach? Have a couple thoughts but looking for additional ideas on set up. Surf Perch?

Thanks !!!!

Hey Josh. So my pic of my reel ended up in media. Are you sending every single photo from threads to media? Including some BS and other single thread type pics? Not sure how it was done before but you where asked or had to direct your pic to media. I’m not sure if I submit a pic to a thread like my dog I want it shared in the media thread. Does that make sense or am I off on that request? At this rate there’s gonna be a lot of nonsensical pics… Kramer, colonel sanders, MC Hammer, etc in media that doesn’t need to be there imho. Just the good stuff. Pics of fish and bent rods. 😝

I think surf perch and sand dabs mostly. Have fished the beach area immediately north of Pacific Beach State Park several times and that's all I seemed to catch. (on gear)

Just remember its a huge sand shelf out as far as 300 feet in areas.

At the moment, yes. We're seeing how well it works out.

You can delete any image you upload from the media library. Click "media" at the top of any page and then click "your content". That will show you a page of your images. Click on whatever one you want to delete, you'll see a deletion option on the top right.

Hey Porter?

I didn't realize there was enough structure there where you're going, but this guy gives the impression Lingcod on flies is possible.

Thanks. I’ve fished off Pacific City in the ocean. Different fishery, and my plans are ??? Gonna have two outings, but rivers are kinda weak at that time of the year, Failor Lake looks interesting but not sure 🤔 can carry all the gear needed for that…float tube and all. At minimum if weather cooperates well hit the Roosevelt beach area and Copalis River/Beach area and maybe it will be spin gear or knee deep wading with the fly rod. We are staying at Seabrook and I don’t want to venture to far away. I know there’s more North but not doing it. He’ll I might lay out some reverse spiders at Joe’s creek for an hour or two one early am/or evening. This is becoming a wing it operation!

Be careful on Joe Creek. Past the campground its all private on both sides. 3 years ago we had permission to be at The Steps on the left going back towards the bridge.

A bunch of people in the creek at the campground with thier little ones enjoying the water. All of a sudden, about 10 people on horseback showed up on the south bank and then turned onwards up the creek.
Sorry individuals pushed into the creek and let the horses relieve themselves after passing the families, which washed right into them. Horses never stopped and came right up the center of the creek , which put the fish down hard. Packed up the kid and left.

Talked to the volunteer camp host later about that, and he said he'd confronted the people on horseback after complaints from the families involved in the earlier incident. They basically told him to piss off, they do whatever they want . So there's that to look for .

If it turns into a gear trip, and you decide to fish the sand flats, a 9ft spinning rig in the 15 pound range is a good choice. Bait on the bottom ? go with a slider holding either a coin style, small pyramid or Sputnik sinker to stay in the sand.
Mind if I PM ? More to share
