It really isn't though. His decline started a couple years ago. I remember making a few comments, last year especially, about how bad his accuracy was getting.

It seems as though Russ has become a protege of Kanye emulating much of Ye's shtick and laughing all the way to the bank. He should take another page out of the Kanye West book and change his name to one word like Ciara and Ye. He could consolidate Russell Wilson into Rulon, a name which would be appropriate for a guy making millions to perform like a taxi squad backup. Rulon is a high grade plastic in the PTFE family that has a very low coefficient of friction and is resistant to abrasion. Nothing sticks to it and so far not to Russ either but his resistance to abrasion will no doubt falter as his performance continues to decline.

I agree. In the last few years with the Seahawks, he wasn’t as exciting to watch.
His stat lines were still pretty good, right up until the end... But you are right, his peak was when the team was best, especially with "Beast mode" and the crushing defense.
His last few years were very much a "stats don't tell the whole story" type of thing.
He was plummeting before that. Cardinals game 2020 he took probably the hardest hit of his career, most likely with a concussion, and kept playing. That was pretty much the turning point. He was seeming to put it together before then and looking more and more like a complete QB, then he seemed to lose all that progress and regress from there.

I agree this will be interest to watch...
It's entirely possibly the athlete was tainted by his brand success and his priorities went askew? To me it's just fluff (surely with a fat paycheck). I'm inclined to think he would prefer to "just win baby" but if you are endlessly left feeling unprotected, you lose confidence in your new coach... just looking good in a gold suit could become very appealing.
Get Sean Payton and move forward. Would he want to keep Russ?

For me, it seems like it kind of started when Russell was on the cover of Rolling Stone. This was in 2015. I believe i posted this on the old forum . Before i deleted my Facebook account about 5 years ago i had already quit following Russell, though i still appreciated his QBing for quite a while and always had hope he would pull us through.

I was all in on the Russ bashing for a while but now it's gotten kind of like it was with the '49ers the years after our Super Bowl appearances. They were the hated rival but then got so bad you just felt sorry for them.
