This is the NFL thread so guess I can bring it up here.

John Madden was my most favorite football commentator. The guy could add humor to the game like no one else. They should have made a movie about him and they did...

However, after watching the trailer it is obvious that while Nicolas Cage is a good actor and I like him in many movies, he can not pull off portraying John Madden. Not even a little.

I guess I shouldn't make a judgement call until I watch the entire movie but really, the trailer was telling enough that Nicolas Cage simply can not play John Madden.

It is also possible that some who were not around when Madden was in the booth have no reference to the man so Cage will work fine for them. If you weren't around when Madden was a commentator, you missed a lot of laughs during a football game.

I don't bet on sports, unless it's the friendly wager with a buddy...usually involving lunch.

Got a friend that goes to the sports bars all the time ,and bets on games . I like the quiet of home ,and no distraction when watching my Chiefs win ball games . :p

Well, really mostly just one. You already admitted you started liking them just since Mahomes...I'm not totally sure we can count fair weather "fans". Someone is gonna have to consult the official PNWFF rule book.

Although, I think if @Uptonogood remains a fan for years of mediocrity AFTER Mahomes, then we can consider him a true fan....at least I think that's what the rule book says on p.117, section 3.12

Walker - 701 yards to date Chiefs 5-1
Taylor - 587 yards to date Colts 2-5

I think Taylor will fit right in with the Chickens or the Broncos

Well ,if you really want to know , how about when Hank Stram , and Len Dawson won a Super Bowl . But it's been a bit of a dry spell since 1970 ,and 2020 . So yes you could say I have been a fair weather fan . I didn't have much to talk about until now. Their record in playoff games since 1970 before Mahomes was 4-16 in 47 years , no Superbowls , yes I was a fan . But yes really got back on their bandwagon when Reid ,and Mahomes showed up .
