Lock has played on mostly crappy teams in the past...at least bad offensive units. The QB position is probably the hardest position to judge when he's part of a bad unit. Now Lock is on a good team.

Perhaps, in part, a testament to the Hawks coaches and brain trust who have been able to identify under achievers within a certain system who will be able to flourish in one designed to fully utilizes their strengths.

There is no doubt the Hawks have a great coach…it’s easier to coach when your roster is loaded…but when the qb goes down, coaching and game scheme can win the day…and of course a stout defense…

Every other position on the field involves, what equates to, a one on one battle every play. You could be a good WR on a bad team and beat your guy every play…that shows up on film. Same with every other position. The QB position doesn’t have that. If your OL sucks you will likely suck. If your WR’s suck you will suck….

Lock is now the benefactor of a pretty good, and getting better every week OL, plus JSN who is always open because he’s JSN. They are starting to run the ball effectively now and their D is really good. They shouldn’t be down multiple scores in many games so the QB doesn’t have to continually pull rabbits out of his hat. Don’t throw the ball to the other team and get the ball to open guys.

That’s a much different job description than that of a QB on a team whose OL stinks and a that D gives up a lot of points.
 
Two things I noticed yesterday.

Mahomies is throwing like his back is still in recovery mode. He tossed a lot of limp wristed passes.

Oh, holy crap, the Bungles scored 30+ points, despite their front office.
