The NFC West could not have been happier to see Simpson drafted vs a stud like Kenyon Sadiq who was still available. Has to be a disconnect between the GM and coach... "during the announcement McVay seemed unusually subdued for someone who is usually bouncing with energy and excitement."
As to Stafford hearing the pick:

Trey was a major whiff, all teams go through it, aka Rams QB Terry Baker/Heisman winner who never saw the field, Lawrence Phillips, Gaston Green, Greg Robinson, etc....Rams have had their share
Stribling was a good call, 4.36 speed at his size just what was needed.
Aiyik, a lot of talent with mental issues, apparently has ballooned up in his weight, not taking calls. Wish him only the best.
gotta admit, McVay looked like a kid who dropped his ice cream cone on the sidewalk...lol

McVay and Snead were being respectful of QB1 Stafford while discussing the Simpson draft selection with media. Obviously trying to avoid a Rodgers/Love situation. I have no idea if Simpson will be a starter for the LA RAMS someday or a perrenial pro bowler. Let's see what happens.

And now the RAMS add another stud tight end for their 13 personnel attack!

The NFL Draft takes way too long. If I wanted to see 32 picks in 3 hours, I'd just watch Geno Smith play.

honestly, haven't really been paying attention...I've got better things to do between now and the beginning of the regular season.

especially since we only have a handful of mid to late round picks.

We've had one pick. settle down :LOL: ....there will be plenty to come, that I can assure you. Buuuut, it may have to wait until the season actually starts. I don't follow college football enough to know anything about any of these guys past the second half of the first round either...never will either. I've got so many other things are so much higher on that priority list. So, I just come here for some professional faux analysis. :LOL:

Mel Kiper was not pleased at all with the NFC WEST. The LA RAMS drafted the best QB in a weak QB draft.
 
People who make judgements right after the draft are just as silly s those who check the pre-draft mocks. If anybody in the media had the cred they'd be in the business.

The only decent draft commentary comes 3-5 years later when the rookie contracts end.
