This may well be the most interesting draft in quite a while, lotta teams need QB's, and there's some good ones coming out gonna be a whole lot of 'let's make a deal'.
Be interesting to see what Harbough does with the Chargers...has a hella stud at QB, and salary cap hell, way over the line. Another excellent coach who got to the big game and one lousy missed pass cost them the win.
The playoff games this season were whole lotta fun...lotta parity, some really talented teams, no true juggernaut

That used to be Coach Reid’s title…I think it worked out ok with him.
While Purdy is decent, imagine if they had a Mahomes, Burrows, or Allen…
Mahomes , yes . Burrows, Allen ? . They are in the same class so far as the Hurts , Jackson etc , win a lot of games, but can’t get over the hump .
Just imagine if the Santa Clara 49ers brought in Matthew Stafford during the 2021 off-season. They tried hard to lure him, but fortunately the LA RAMS signed him first and won Super Bowl glory.
Santa Clara also had the opportunity to hire Sean McVay as head coach during the 2017 off-season. He choose the LA RAMS instead and has been a stellar coach and leader.
The 49ers were able to steal Christian McCaffery from the RAMS, which was a bummer. That guy is special.

The only person that doesn't lose to Mahomes in the playoffs is Tom Brady & a fortunate Joe Burrow that one time. It’s funny you bring up Stockton , and Malone . Being a pretty avid fan of the Jazz back then, it always seemed like Malone just couldn’t show up in the big moments in those finals with Jordan .

Wow, this thread really went off the rails. Dimebright is a troll, i get that. The rest of the BS is just stupid. Jealousy is running thick round here.
Wilks just didn't mesh with the Niners personnel. Scheme wise or personality wise. That was obvious the day they had to make him move out of the booth. If there was any doubt it was removed when Detroit ran for 150 in the first half. Great secondary coach though. They have been really good at building coaches and my guess is they will promote from within somebody who knows their system/style.
I do think the battle for second in the West will be interesting. Remember, the Niners only loss in the division in the last 2 years was a meaningless game they rested everybody.
Can Stafford stay healthy? They have some cap space but also a lot of dead money which limits options.
Will the new SEA coach get their D back up to snuff? Looks like they are keeping Geno so he will have to.
