Official 2024 NFL Season Discussion

I was fine with what happened today. Defense exceeded my expectations already. So much PTSD watching Pete teams whiff open field tackles for years. I kept expecting each catch for Denver to be big YAC, but they never got that.

Offensive line needs serious work. I think it'll improve. it's an entirely new unit for the most part, and O-lines need time to work together. I think its ceiling is an average unit at best, which should be enough. But until that happens, it's not going to be a very explosive offense.

It's an all new coaching staff, so some hiccups should be expected. What I did like is they made constant adjustments, which is refreshing after a decade plus of the "just do the thing that isn't working but do it better!" philosophy. Constant changes on defensive looks, some creative adjustments on offense to open some thing up, and just overall willing to change as the game went on.

I think after a few games, this team will hit its stride.

One of the best analyses I have seen on this site. Now only if it comes true, especially the O line...

Seems like more new Seahawks this year than usual. Gonna' take a few weeks to get acquainted with the team. Like Evan, I really enjoyed seeing the team make some adjustments instead of running that same play that isn't working. But still so fun to see Smith connect a bullet pass to Lockett - makes my day.

No MNF for us tonight. Direct TV and Disney are in the midst of a pi$$ing match. Disney is taking their football (ESPN) and going home until DTV gives in and shows them the money.

Ya, we watch a lot of other stuff on DTV, particularly during the dark days of winter. It also covers the hawks and M's and used to get ESPN. My guess is that this will get resolved. DTV and Mickey Mouse are most likely in on it together in their search for more money. Recurring revenue is that crack-cocaine of streaming services.... apologies if this is thread drift.

Always good when a division team loses.

Cards down
Lambs down
Go Jets !!!

I don't pay for any tv services or cable of any kind, but sign up for Youtube TV/NFL Sunday Ticket every fall, then cancel once the season's over. Honestly pretty worth it as I get to watch any and all games I desire.
I have been getting the offers to sign up , but wow ! if I am understanding the price ? At first it was like $150 per month for four months , the latest offer was down to around $100 . Pretty expensive ,plus their regular package for watching TV is no bargain , plus I am no fan of strictly streaming . Also Peacock is horrible on their coverage . Direct Tv is no bargain either on their football package .

I have had Direct for years , no desire to go any other route , I am okay with them . Hopefully the Disney thing gets straightened out ,a bit bummed not being able to watch some of the US Open .

We get FUBO every season.
Start September, cancel after Super Bowl.
First time users get a price break, so wasn't too bad.
80-100 a month, depending on what you choose.

Not bad, worked for us.

That Disney/Direct thing has been going on for a few years. It's not getting resolved anytime soon...gotta pay to play.

That's why I quit Direct 3-4 years ago now...

They always have offers that happen over the summer that I jump on. I'd have to go search but I know I am not paying anywhere near that much.

You do not have ABC , your local channels ? Got it set for recording tonight .

Pretty sure the last offer was like $98 a month for four months . I'm thinking Direct TV is probably around that ,used to be fairly cheap . I don't sign up for it anymore . There was a couple years during covid got the football package free on Direct . That was nice plus the fact I would record my favorite teams ,and watch them all . There is enough games on regular TV now to watch . I record all four they show on the regular channels on Sunday , plus Monday night ,and watch Thursday night streaming , which I hate , can't record it live, and watch a bit later in the telecast , too skip all the commercials . As said no fan of streaming . No idea on Youtube ,but have to guess you put up with all the commercials like on Peacock or Prime on Thursday night ?

Yeah Youtube TV still has commercials aplenty. The NFL would never pass up an opportunity to run ads.

Ads are when you piss, get more food, check the board, grab another drink.
If it wasn't for ads, you'd starve to death, or piss yourself...maybe get kidney stones from dehydration.

Gotta wonder if these streaming services are gaining customers or if the nfl is losing fans. I know which camp I fall into. Frankly the quest to make further riches for billionaires (games in Brazil?) is getting a bit nauseating.

TNF is on Prime - weeks 2 - 17. Twitch.tv - I use it to stream TNF. It is free (and also owned by Amazon/Prime).
